The old city of Chiang mai is a 1.6 x 1.6 kilometer square surrounded by a moat. Wat Phra Singh is located inside the old city, between the center and the west side moat. Rachadamnoen road, which runs from Wat Phra Singh eastwards, is the location of the weekly "walking street" market where you can spend Sunday evenings shopping for souvenirs.
